The Divine Curse p.1 (Open / Started)

Being curious, Kioshi decided to look closer at what happened. No one would bother her, since she just looks like an ordinary cat. Maybe if she wasn't sleeping, she would have known what's going on. 'Wait a minute, why do I care anyway?' she thought.

Faron blinked, shifting his head towards her painfully, and slowly. "It's okay..." He whispered. "I don't think they're dead," His eyes narrowed. Trying to see any movement from Xavier or Aaron. He couldn't see through Koe, but he could detect the slight shallow breaths of Xavier. "Xavier is still alive, barely. But he's alive. So dont worry okay? Please don't cry,"

Elzas eyes widened a bit, and she turned around. Sure enough, Xavier was still breathing. "But what about Aaron, The psycho hitting him in the head . . . over . . . and over . . ." She tightened her hands into fists and sort of stumbled to Koe's side. The elf pressed her fingers to Aaron's throat, searching for a heartbeat. There was nothing. Her shoulders sagged. And then she felt something, a tiny flutter beneath her fingers. "Oh my gods, he's alive! Koe, he's alive!"

Koe looked up at Elza. Her body almost crumpled in on itself. "W-wh-what?" She managed, hiccuping and sniffling and being a snotty bloody mess. "R-really?" Her grasp on Aaron's hand tightened again, and hope fluttered in her chest. "B-b-but he won't b-be f-f-for long. In this s-s-ta-state," She muttered, tears coming to her eyes again. "Ev-ev-even if he-he's not d-dead now h-he could be-be lat-er," She felt something cold and cool drop down on her open exposed back, showing her patchwork skin and her remaining tattoos, the ones that didn't get scratched off. She wouldn't worry the tattoos though, they would resurface one the skin fully healed, or wrap around the scar that it would most likely make.

'Rain, light, minerals,' Xavier thought, the coolness waking him to the point where he could think. He couldn't move, he could barely breathe. His chest hurt like hell, and he was pretty sure most of his bones were broken as well. He could feel roots and leaves all around him, the leaves slowly powering him up, the roots getting his nutrients. Being a tree, is fun. Yes?
But, he could hear Koe, safe... Well alive at least. She was... Crying? Why? Then it dawned on him, 'Aaron, the bastard hurt Aaron, I thought I... He broke my last request,'

Faron looked back up at the sky, closing his eyes as the rain started to suddenly fall. 'How depressing,' he thought, letting out a deep sigh. 'Depressing rain is depressing,'

"The reason he's alive is because he's a werewolf. They don't die as easily as we do. Xavier's alive, too. In fact . . ." Elza glanced at the wood nymph, to see that his head was angled toward him. "he's awake now. I'll try to help Aaron, so you go and see to Xavier. He needs you right now." The elf noticed a cat nearby. Why would a cat be here? Either way, she dug through her pack, or what was left of it. A demon must have slashed it. A few strips of bandages and some assorted crushed herbs were all she could find, but they were some hope at least.

Will stalked through the forest, following the screams of the psychotic fairy. He held a cold iron blade in his hand, one that he had summoned with the power of the gods. A divine killer. The trees soon thinned out to show a small pond, with the fairy squatting at it's side streaming curses. Will watched him from behind a tree, observing his condition. He had one arm. A bite from the werewolf (though it wouldn't do anything since the full moon was over). His remaining hand was dunked in the water, apparently burned. He grinned. Fairies didn't mix with fire. Will gripped the knife, preparing to throw it at the fairy's turned back.

Name- Atalia X. Fales
Age- 99 years
Species- Ram Spirit
Divine "Parent"- Ghethora, chosen for her adamant will to heal anyone afflicted with an illness.
Personal Weapons- She carries a Scalpel blessed by Ghethora, which is fastened across her right shoulder where she was marked. The size and composition of this scalpel is nothing out of the ordinary, but when used properly, it can tear through a demon as easily as a knife slicing through butter. It also functions well for any biopsies she wishes to perform. Otherwise, when facing non-demonic creatures, Atalia has numerous weapons hidden underneath her clothes that range from surgical blades to poisons. As a spirit, she also has some regeneration powers of her own that can be used on others as well, but because she’s so young she cannot bring out its full potential.
Personality- As a Ram Spirit, Atalia has a strong sense of protection and fearlessness. Inclusive to that, her life force is just as strong as any other Ram Spirit, all extremely committed to energy and drive. She also carries an undying will to heal any individual in need of her help, regardless of their status or ideals. This causes her to do what others believe is utterly sinful: the healing of sickly demons. This practice however is limited to those stricken with illness. She will not bother with those dying from wounds inflicted by blessed weapons. Otherwise, Atalia is seen as cool and collected, yet surrounded by a dark and mysterious aura. Her cold demeanor and expressionless face gives off an appearance not suited for her personality. This Ram Spirit rarely ever smiles and always thinks before speaking. She tries not to get attached easily, but Atalia has a gruff motherly side that gets the best of her. Whenever in the state of danger, she will not abandon a patient or an acquaintance at any cost.
Weaknesses- Atalia has dedicated most of her life to the study of medicine so she isn’t used to combat. There are times when parts of her body become strained and her muscles weaken, which causes her to lose footing and focus. At times, she can be easily tricked depending on how convincing the scheme is. Her belief in treating everyone also has its drawbacks- her patients (especially the demons) can turn on her. She also sends a prayer of thanks to Ghethora after each and every treatment, which can be seen as a moment of weakness by those around her.
Skills- Atalia has been trained in several medical aspects and is skilled in diagnosis, treatment and the study of numerous ailments. Due to this, she is extremely patient and has keen observation skills. She isn’t much of a fighting-type, but when it comes to battle, she is best suited for close combat. When fighting close-range she is capable of brilliantly using all of her equipment with speed, power, focus and control. Because of her life in the mountains, she also has great footing.
History- Atalia’s family lived high in the mountains, along with other Ram Spirits and an elderly medicine woman. Both her parents were deathly ill before she was old enough to stand and due to their ailment, they were forced to refrain from staying by their child’s side, but that did not keep them from loving her. Before her second birthday, Atalia’s mother and father took their final breaths while praying to the gods and goddesses for the future of their child, and the infant was then taken in by the tribe’s medicine woman. For most of her childhood, the medicine woman raised Atalia and taught her every aspect of medicine acknowledged. Her bond with the medicine woman flourished during her training, and Atalia came to think of her as family. In this time period, Atalia also heeded her parent’s love and poured out her feelings into everything she produced and everyone she attended to. Her resolve grew stronger and stronger during her time with the medicine woman and one day while gathering herbs alone, her will was molded into action. The young Ram Spirit brought home a dying demon. Immediately she was rejected by the other spirits and while she treated him, the community attacked both of them with physical and mental assaults. Despite this pressure, Atalia continued to heal the demonic creature, even with the blood loss and physical pain. Covered in cuts, stabs and bruises, the young Ram Spirit spent a little more than week working to make her patient healthy. But by the time the demon had recovered, he himself left her with a fatal wound and escaped into the forest below. Struggling for air, smiling and coated with layers of crimson blood, Atalia lay at the foot of the cave with her vibrant purple gaze staring at the medicine woman in front of her. Painfully dragging a scalpel across the floor she slid it to her teacher’s feet. “I’ve sinned haven’t I? But I don’t care. . I’ve done what I can . . . and I won’t ever let anyone kill me besides you.” Is what she said, before the medicine woman held the bloody scalpel in her arms, said a blessing over it and drove it into Atalia’s shoulder. A mark of the boar appeared where the Ram Spirit’s skin was pierced and her wounds gradually began to disappear. “I don’t necessarily appreciate what you’ve done, but I value that fire in your eyes, Atalia.” Was the old lady’s reply, before her body was transfigured into a boar and faded into the night sky- never to be seen again. A slight grin was upon the boar’s face as the goddess left.
From then onwards, Atalia has been roaming Earth healing the sick and cleansing the world of its darkness.

(Of course she doesn’t go out wearing clothes like that, but she is normally seen in all black attire: Knee high boots with slight stiletto heels and buckles across the sides, jeans upheld by a leather belt with metallic embroidery and long-sleeved button down blouse. Over all this, she usually wears a white laboratory coat.)
Crush- No one, she doesn’t really want to fall in love again because of a past relationship, but you never know ┐(￣ー￣)┌
Other- She gained a bit of that “irritable old lady” attitude from the act put on by Ghethora, and she has a little bad habit from a human she once fell in love with... smoking ಠ_ಠ. (What a bad doctor *shmack* *shmack* *shmack* xD)

"RRAAAAH!" Armistice let out another guttural roar as he furiously scrubbed water over his leg, despite that fact that his hand was bright and oozing something foul. He hand would survive the burn, but he couldn't deal with an infection. "Heathens free of responsibility or care!" He muttered. "They strive to do nothing but create an endless wasteland of death and rot! I WILL create my perfect world, oh yes, they will see!" He ranted and raved to dull his pain as he worked. He'd have to find a way to get more cloth soon as well, considering his cursed arm-stump was now mostly visible. His mood was tremendously sour.

Koe shot a glance at Xavier, blinking. "I-I didn't even know he was th-there," she sniffled, letting go of her death grip on Aaron's hand. She painfully wiped the tears off her face, noticing that her hand was burnt. And it suddenly exploded in pain. "Ow!" She yipped, cradling it against her chest as she slowly made, using a one handed crawl, her way to Xavier. Noticing the leves and the roots all around him. "Trees..." She sighed, sniffling once more and sitting on her knees next to him. "X-Xavier?" She whispered, touching his brusied and battered face lightly.

Xavier heard her voice, and he could feel the light touch on his cheek. But he couldn't speak, he couldn't move, so in response he twitched a finger, to show that he could hear. Soon the hand the finger was attached to was taken by a hand, the same hand that had touched his face moments before. He breathed deeply, more through the leaves than his body. He wanted to speak, but no words could form from his throat. He just tightened his grip on her hand. 'I'm sorry Koe, I'm sorry he got hurt, I'm sorry that I found you again, I'm sorry that this happened' The thoughts started racing through his head. 'But I love you. I love you and it hurts and I just want to die. But I can't because then it will hurt in hell,' Everything he wanted to say to he ever came flooding into his mind at once. And a small tear dripped down from one of his eyes.
"I'm just so sorry," He said aloud.

Kioshi saw the elf glance at her. The cat walked behind the tree, now hidden. 'Wait a minute, I just look like a cat. Why would anyone walk up to a random cat and pet it now?' she thought. She poked her head out from the tree, just enough to see again.

Will balanced the knife in his hand, feeling its weight. Breathe in, breathe out. He felt his heart still, as his zeroed in on his target, calculating the distance and power required to send the knife into his flesh. The iron glinted in the weak sunlight of early morning, and the hunter let it fly.

Before using any of their precious few supplies, Elza tried lightly skimming her finger tips over Aaron's body to see if he had broken bones. Nearly all of his ribs where cracked, and his right collarbone was snapped. His shoulders hadn't fared well either, and his skull had suffered from fractures. His arms and legs felt fine, however. But the elf didn't know how to deal with bone damage as extensive as this. She figured Xavier suffered the same, or worse. What could she do to save them?

A tall, slender woman was strolling through what previously was a vision of greenery she was accustomed to. Her footsteps were measured as she passed through the burning remnants of foliage with ease, puffing out rings of smoke into the already ash laden scenery. Spidery strands of ebony hair whisked about in the smoky breeze around her and she muttered under her breath. "A fight, huh?" Her voice was barely audible. The smell of rotting flesh was clogging up her senses. Sighing, the woman caught sight of the blood from her position. A girl with long, brown bloodied hair that smelt like an elf seemed to be treating another bloodied figure. I wonder if she needs help, that girl. . . she thought while walking towards the bodies, ignoring the sheathed weapon held at the girl's side. When she was close enough, her slender fingers brushed the elf's shoulder in a gentle manner and she lightly chuckled. "Are you sure you can heal those wounds?"

Elza jumped, falling backward and grabbing the hilt of her katana. "Who the h*** are you?!" Elza was scared that this strange woman would attack them, but didn't show it. Instead, her face was a mask of anger, though tears had left shining tracks where they had cut through the grime caking it.

Thunk. A dull sound reached Armistice, followed by a sharp pain. He reached for the spot the ache seemed to be radiating from, and felt something cold and hard. Anger filled him then, and he yanked out the knife and threw it aside. "Oh, so someone thinks they're clever, someone thinks they can just hurl their toys wherever it suits them, huh, well, I'll show them." he muttered as he paced about, before shouting "WHOEVER DID THAT, COME OUT HERE! Face me as an equal! I demand it!"

Koe looked up at the woman, her eyes widening. "Elza calm down," She whispered, barely audible as her grip on Xavier's hand tightened, her other hand throbbing and searing. She looked back down at Xavier, frowning, then looking back at Aaron. "Can you heal them?" She asked, "You look like a doctor, can you heal... Him?" Her voice was clear until she hit the word him. Wanting to rush over to Aaron and hold him tightly. But she could barely move.

Will's eyes turned to slits. The only way the fairy could be alive was if they had some sort of protective spell, or they had demon blood. Now that he was thinking about it, his looks suddenly made sense. He summoned two more daggers, one for each hand, and stepped out from behind the tree. "What are you? My dagger should have killed you instantly. I was aiming for your heart."

Atalia smirked, raising an eyebrow in amusement. Casually, she leaned over and took a seat beside the angered elf, placing her hand upon the hilt of the weapon as well. "You're crying." She murmured, ignoring the reaction she had invoked. "You're in a difficult situation, aren't you?" The spirit couldn't hold in another chuckle and grinned at the other girl, Koe. "You're in luck today. I can heal them for you." She paused. "But before that, what exactly just happened here?"

Armistice got his hammer out from the sling, ignoring the ache and resistance of his burns, but didn't dash forward. If this man was going to have a conversation, he might as well entertain it. Besides, the trick with the daggers from nothing was definitely an attention grabber, oh yes. "Me? I'm nothing but a truce, a ceasefire, an Armistice. I like Armistice the most, so I went by that one. As for the knife, are you sure you threw it hard enough? That didn't really seem to make an impact." He scoffed, then shuddered as the pain from his three wounds caught up to him. "On the other hand, I'm not really in the shape for this. Maybe you should just go back behind the tree." He nodded. "Yes, calling you out here was a bad idea."

Elza's anger fell away, and her hand dropped from her weapon's hilt. "Last night was a full moon, and that boy is a werewolf. We didn't get him restrained in time and he rampaged. Eventually he stopped here, and soon after that a horde of demons attacked. As you can see, we barely escaped alive. But then some psychopathic fairy showed up, claiming we were evil for killing demons, and did . . . that." The elf's voice was hollow. Could this healer really do it?

Will stepped closer, his daggers crossed in front of him. "Yes, you're hardly in the shape for fighting. You're part demon, aren't you?" The sunlight fell upon his white hair as he stepped through a tilted shaft of it, making his hair sparkle like diamonds lighting it to a dull white fire.

((The fangirls chants of WILLSTICE WILLSTICE WILLSTICE get louder))

"No, no I'm not. No shape at all." Armistice agreed, replacing his hammer in its rightful place. He then cupped his chin with his hand, then flinched away as his burn acted up. "Bah, stupid mage. Anyway, you ask me if I'm part demon? I am. Their blood runs through me. The fates have deigned a new solution for the madness and darkness of this world, and I am it." He spun a bit grandly as he said it, clearly expecting Will to be impressed. "Now, your turn." He leaned forward interestedly. "Who're you?"

Will lowered his daggers slightly and masked his annoyance. "Fair enough. "I'm a hunter, and I hunt supernatural beings that . . . act up. You're one. Unfortunately, you're also part demon." He stepped back again, turning slightly as he began to walk back into the forest.

"Ooh, that's quite story." Atalia murmured, pausing to mush her dying cigarette in the dirt. Gradually, her purple gaze traced the bodies of the two males before her, diagnosing their injuries and calculating all the possible treatment methods. Multiple fractures, numerous broken bones and without a doubt intensive internal bleeding. This was definitely a massive wreck, and a perfect opportunity to train her regeneration skills. "They would have to go weeks in treatment otherwise," She murmured out loud as she stroked her horns back and forth at the curves. The female doctor then closed her eyes, beginning to gather the energy around her. A slight violet aura began to build around her body.

"Act up?" Armistice hissed. "I'm acting up? Throwing a fit like some spoiled child? And all the demons, too, I take it? They're just breaking things for ATTENTION?!" He kicked the dirt, and then started limping after Will. "Tell me, though, what if you were the world's enemy, the butt of all of their jokes? Wouldn't you act out? Wouldn't you be angry?" An idea was starting to bud in his mind, a wonderful idea indeed. "You know, I bet if you helped me liberate demons from their bondage, the supernatural things that plague you would drop in number significantly." He nodded, sure of himself. "After all, if demons were a normal race like any other, you wouldn't have to fight them, and they in turn would hunt the true monsters. That seems mutually beneficial, yes?"
